New & An Audiobook

New & An Audiobook

Long time, friends! Wow, where do I start? I had plans. I had a list. I had it all mapped out. And, BAM! New plan. New route. New adventure. New season. New bootcamp. Have you ever been there before? We ALL went through 2020, so I feel like y'all can identify with me.

Here was my plan for the blog. I was going to finish the series based upon the read-through of The Glass Desk. Check. Then, I would leave your inbox alone during the Holiday season because we know the emails become an obnoxious burden during those months, and I don't like obnoxious or being a contributor to obnoxious. Check.

Those were the only two checks I got to place on that pretty little list of mine. There were A LOT more things that were supposed to be checked off between then and now. Or so I thought. Any hands in the crowd? Furthermore, for all you list makers, rewriting the list made no difference. šŸ˜‰

I want to tell you that it is OK to let your list change. I had a timeline, but timelines change. I had a plan, but plans change. The critical thing to realize is that no matter how many things get skipped, removed, or delayed on our list, it's going to be OK.

Although it is good for us to plan, and have goals, it is better for us to be obedient to the Lord's direction. He knows the plans we have made. He might have even given us the timeline. So then why the change? Why the sudden shift?

Does the why really matter? I say no. It doesn't matter, because as long as they are His plans, His timing, and His direction, we have no reason to fret. His plans are always better. Sometimes the plans you thought He had for you were actually a way to prepare you for His REAL plans. So deep, huh?

Sure, the audiobook was officially published on March 1st of this year. Sure, I wanted to tell y'all all about it, but the Lord has His timing. And today is the day that I get to share that exciting news with you! The audiobook can be found wherever you get your audiobooks, or you can get it directly through my site here. Yay! Audiobook! Ok, back to new.

New plan. New route. New adventure. New season. New bootcamp. That was quite the string of new to throw at you in the opening paragraph. We all like new, right? But do we all want that much new at one time?

A lot of new is something the Lord has always done in our lives. We don't ever "ease" into things. He says go, and then He makes quick work of it. We make plans, but we do our best to stay obedient to His direction and calling. Do those callings, and directions, oftentimes look crazy? They sure do. Especially to those looking from the outside in, but it's His peace through all of the changes that allow us to have the confidence to move forward no matter how insane things might look.

There are times when the new is really meant to fulfill an old desire of our heart. The question I have for you today is how much of your comfort, your plans, and your pride are you willing to toss at the feet of Jesus in order to allow Him to do a new thing? How radical of a change will you make in order to follow?

The Lord's ways are unconventional, and the sooner we remove Him from our box, and go with His flow the more peaceful and exciting all the new will be. Peaceful and exciting doesn't mean there won't be lots of effort, lots of waiting, or lots of questions along the way. Peaceful and exciting mean you can rest assured that He is in the driver's seat, and your new destination is going to be worth the drive.
