Saturday & Sunday – spend time with the Lord and journal answers to chapter six questions.
Rendezvous: to meet or come together at a particular time and place.
Revelation: an act of revealing or communicating divine truth.
Community is where we rendezvous for revelation. When we come together with other believers at a particular time and place, God will communicate divine truth through each of us by the Holy Spirit’s power.
It’s the bee’s knees!
Frankly, I can think of little else that is more fun and renewing to the soul than to be in the company of fellow believers when the Holy Spirit grows heavy and transforms the gathering into a place of healing, prophetic word, and edification.
It’s easy to think that church on Sundays is the only time when the Holy Spirit “moves,” but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Remember how the Bible tells us that where two or more are gathered in His name, He is there? Well, that means that no matter the size of our community, He will be there in our midst when He is the focus.
In this week’s reading, I hope you will grab hold of the importance of community in your life. I bring up a few touchy subjects regarding community and our roles within community, but we need to always remember that the focus of our lives and our interactions with others is Him. When the Lord prompts a role change for us in our community, we need to heed that direction.
Community changes, our roles in community change, but when our community’s focus is Jesus, then the changes will usher us toward growth and allow the anointing of the Holy Spirit to remain fresh. When your community is one that’s yielded to the will of God, then there will never be stagnation.
I hope this week’s reading will cause you to thank the Lord for your community, challenge you to reevaluate your community (if needed), and usher you into finding a community if you lack one.
The Lord has so much to reveal to you. He wants to unfold the full picture of your life, but He needs you to join in with some of His flock in order to do so.
Let me know what you think of the questions below.
1. Have you ever witnessed the importance of community in your life?
2. Do you feel you have chosen your community wisely, or do you need to reevaluate?
Happy reading, friends!
